Leica M6 - First Roll
I absolutely love my M3, but I recently picked up a 35mm Voigtlander lens. If you are unaware, the widest frame lines in the M3 viewfinder are only for 50mm lenses, and I was getting sick of guessing with the M3 viewfinder. This plus some late night internet shopping resulted in me picking up an M6.
I haven’t gotten to spend a ton of time with it yet, but I’m really enjoying it so far. Not only can I properly use the 35mm now, but I also get the built in light meter. That’s made a huge difference so far. When shooting with the M3, I either use sunny 16 or a light meter on my phone. While the phone meters work pretty well, I’m too lazy to take it out most of the time, so I just end up guessing at the exposure. The M6 has really streamlined that process for me. As an extra bonus, I don’t have to take my phone out as much anymore while shooting.
These are a few pics from the first roll (Portra 400) that I ran through the M6. Nothing too fancy, mostly just some snapshots while walking around the neighborhood. I’m really looking forward to taking advantage of the 35mm lens in the future.
